Bio Lace Media
Bio Lace Media is an innovative biological carrier specially designed to maximize biological treatment efficiency in wastewater systems by providing an extremely high surface area for microorganism growth. Its lace-patterned geometry allows the formation of a dense and healthy biofilm layer, enabling bacteria to break down organic pollutants such as COD and BOD with superior efficiency compared to conventional media. Due to its lightweight PP/HDPE construction, Bio Lace Media remains suspended in the aeration tank with excellent buoyancy, ensuring uniform mixing and continuous contact between wastewater, microorganisms, and oxygen. This results in faster biodegradation, improved nutrient removal, and higher MLSS concentration without increasing tank volume.
The open-structured lace design minimizes clogging, reduces backwashing requirements, and maintains consistent performance even with variable hydraulic and organic loads. Bio Lace Media is completely corrosion-resistant, chemically inert, and capable of operating under aerobic, anoxic, and anaerobic treatment conditions — making it highly versatile for multiple treatment stages. Whether used for new plant installations or retrofitted to upgrade existing overloaded treatment facilities, Bio Lace Media significantly enhances capacity without the need for additional civil construction. By improving sludge stability and increasing oxygen utilization, it delivers long-term, energy-efficient biological treatment — reducing operational cost while maintaining consistent treated water quality in compliance with pollution board norms.
